Remembering Vittorio Arrigoni

Today marks the second anniversary of the tragic killing of Vittorio Arrigoni, by suspected members of Tawhid wal-Jihad, a Palestinian Salafist group in Gaza. Vik was a truly inspirational person, fighting injustice and oppression with an unbelievable compassion and humanity. He was the best friend in Gaza of one of my best friends, Adie Mormech. I’ve been smiling with a tear in my eye at some beautiful pictures of the two of them over the last couple of days. If you’ve never heard of Vik before or don’t know much about him, do watch the moving documentary below, and look up the many tributes to him out there. Today my love and solidarity is with Adie, all Vik’s comrades, friends and family, and all the people in Palestine and beyond fighting for peace, freedom and justice today, people who haven’t got any other choice.
